A musical theater show coming directly from South Africa

A Man of Good Hope brings us closer to a reality that Europe has turned its back on for many years: Africa, immigrants and refugees. A musical theatre show based on real events: the journey of Asad, an eight-year-old orphan boy, to reach safety. A story by the prestigious South African company Isango Ensemble.

A Man of Good Hope is an important piece not only for the Isango company and South Africa but for the whole world, as it explores one of the most significant crises we have had to face globally in recent times: economic migrations and refugees. Based on Asad’s extraordinary journey, the play is a tale told with a sense of humour, wonderful music and, above all, overflowing humanity. Performed in the company’s distinctive style, this theatrical musical piece is a call for understanding and compassion.

Mark Dornford-May, director of the show.
