Federico García Lorca had a close relationship with the city of Barcelona, in which he would premiere two of his plays, Mariana Pineda and Doña Rosita the Spinster. In 1935, Margarita Xirgu’s company premiered Doña Rosita at the Teatre Principal Palace in Barcelona and this was the last play he would premiere in life.
