La nit de Catalina Homar + Les darreres paraules
- José Carlos Llop and Carme Riera
- Sala Petita
- 15/11/18 al 18/11/18
The Majorcan writers José Carlos Llop and Carme Riera explore the figure of the legendary Majorcan archduke Lluís Salvador, an Austrian aristocrat who, at the end of the nineteenth, devoted much of his life to the study of the island's nature and society, a legendary figure that has left a great footprint in the Majorcan folk imaginary.
In La nit de Catalina Homar, Llop gives a voice to the archduke's most popular lover, an almost taboo character who has always been limited to a secondary role with practically no back story, to vindicate her place in history.
In Les darreres paraules, Riera brings the archduke to the stage after having devoted her homonymous novel to him, making him dictate to his final secretary personal confessions that he will sign and seal before a lawyer and that cannot be made public until twenty-five years after his death.
