Books and reading clubs
Reading clubs “Llegir el teatre”Over the last few years and thanks to the reading clubs organised with the Government of Catalonia’s Library Service, the TNC publishing project has become a benchmark. Encouraging the reading of plays is one of the priorities of the TNC artistic project, and the consolidation of the reading clubs “Llegir el teatre” project is an example of this. Hence, the 8th year of play reading clubs will be organised this 2020/21 season.
This year we will read the following plays: Decameró, by Davide Carnevali, Narcís Comadira, Lluïsa Cunillé, Dimitris Dimitriadis, Najat El Hachmi, Gregorio Luri, Marta Marín-Dòmine, Cristina Morales, Valère Novarina and Perejaume, L’Hèroe, by Santiago Rusiñol, Les cartes, by Víctor Català, Encara hi ha algú al bosc, by Anna Maria Ricart Codina, La nit de la iguana, by Tennessee Williams, La Font de la Pólvora, by Llàtzer Garcia, Galatea, by Josep Maria de Sagarra, L’Emperadriu del Paral·lel, by Lluïsa Cunillé. We will also work on two extra titles from the 2019/20 season: Still Life (Monroe-Lamarr), by Carles Batlle and L’huracà, by Carme Montoriol.
The leaders of the reading clubs will be trained by the TNC artistic teams and all participants will have the opportunity to complement their reading with attendance at an exclusive performance.
TNC reading clubs
For the second consecutive year, in the 2019/20 season the reading clubs managed by the TNC were once again a success. This great reception has motivated the TNC to organise the third year of this immersive experience in plays.
Reading the stage. Technology on stage (UPC)
After the good results of the first Reading the stage project in the 2019/20 season, when the Polytechnic University of Catalonia offered its students an annual course that sought to take a technological look at theatre, in this 2020/21 season the experience will be repeated. Participating students will read some texts from the “Llegir el teatre” project and, for each of the readings, there will be a reading club session and a meeting with a member of the artistic team linked to set design, lighting or audiovisuals, for example, to analyse the production from a technical point of view.
