Socio-educational Projects
Theater and action project
In the TNC we believe in the performing arts as a tool for social transformation. And we also believe that when art and education come together, we enrich learning processes.
Our proposal, then, is to contact a group of young people with a group of people from some vulnerable collective to work together on an artistic creation process.
Through the scenic language we work to achieve the desestigmatization of the collective involved in the project, strengthen the critical thinking of participants, and thus reflect on social issues.
An artistic director will accompany participants in a process of creation for 20 hours of rehearsal organized in one-hour and a half-hour work sessions for a quarter. Finally, the process will conclude with a sample in the Tallers Room of the National Theater of Catalonia, to share learning with family and friends.
The TNC offers two APSs each course, in two different quarters.
Project in orbit
The EN ORBITA program proposes to participate in a community project with a social impact through the stage language. Based on a process of creating with a group of people from a vulnerable collective, the groups of the institutes participate in different modalities of link: “in Orbit6” or “ in Orbit3.
Project participants in the format “in Orbit6” work during the first and second quarter of course in order to create the necessary stage material for the piece that the collective will make and also with a small intervention within of this show. For their part, participants in the format “in Orbit3” work during the second quarter of the course preparing a small piece linked by thematic or language in the centerpiece.
During this process, young people will know the collective and be informed to decide what the work they will do or the piece they will create will be. The creation process will have the advice of an artist who will make different visits to the group to guide and accompany.
The project will culminate in a meeting with all institutes that have participated in the program in orbit (project groups in Orbita3, project groups in Orbit6 and group of the collective, which will have worked in parallel with the TNC. All work will be presented in the TNC Workshop Room to share everyone’s creations and establish a participatory dialogue.
The TNC will offer an En Orbita3 project to three institutes for a quarter.
