El sonall

El sonall

An immersive game, a guided tour of the museum of oblivion

Catalina Muñoz was executed in September 1936 and buried with her nine-month-old son's rattle in a mass grave in Palencia. Following an excavation under a playground, 83 years later, the rattle was found and returned to its rightful owner, now in his eighties.

Let us now imagine a dystopian present where post-truth, historical revisionism, the noise of social media (masculinity, tradwives, neo-fascism...) and the falsehoods of new AIs are the new normal: would an act of historical reparation of this nature have been possible? Or would it all have fallen into a future of oblivion and forgetfulness?
