The foreword to Singlots poètics by Serafí Pitarra, addressed to the “sons of Wilfred the Hairy”, is a satirical introduction to one of the most striking enterprises in Catalan drama: the editing of twenty-four volumes published between 1864 and 1866 which include the majority of the most significant pieces of the prolific playwright, who would premiere over one hundred plays during his fifty-six years of life.
