The banking collapse will lead an Icelandic adolescent to begin a rite of passage pilgrimage to New York in search of his mother. On this journey to the heart of darkness of a tottering system, the youth will get to know different realities that will make him aware of the profound depression that is leading the Western world to inevitable ruin.

Written just when the last great crisis was beginning to shake the world economy, Islàndia is one of the greatest plays by Lluïsa Cunillé, who lucidly dissects the essence of this grotesque circus dazzling our society.
