Sergio Blanco

She doesn’t speak our language but has enough English to make herself understood. She was born with a male body, but transformed her appearance to become the girl she is. At the end of the war, Agamèmnon took her as a slave to Europe. Now she lives in exile from her country. She survives by offering her body to strangers. Her story is not exactly the same as that told by Aeschylus and Euripides thousands of years ago.

 

Based on the mythical figure of Cassandra, who had the gift of telling the future but was also condemned because she was never understood, Sergio Blanco constructs a fascinating masque ball to explore the painful terrain of silenced violence.
