Revealing a mysterious past may affect the present
On the banks of a swamp stands a half-abandoned building, in which for quite some time only huge spiders have lived. The climate of the region changed completely when the construction of the hydroelectric dam submerged the closest village into oblivion. Since then, the few inhabitants of the area have struggled to overcome their more or less direct complicity in the destruction of those places, while furtive hunters threaten their tranquillity every day.
Accomplished play by the Valencia-born Paco Zarzoso, La casa de les aranyes depicts with fragile delicacy the desolation of lives distanced from contact with the rest of society, and strongly marked by the scars that tie them to their most uncomfortable memories.
