Naples just after the end of the war. The Saporito brothers live poorly, while watching the sinking of the old family business that rents material for festivals. Their neighbours, the Cimmaruta family, subsist with some comfort thanks to a few more or less murky businesses that ensure food on their table. But a surprising murder charge will alter the precarious coexistence of the neighbourhood and plunge it into a growing confusion amidst suspicions, lies and truths.
