Massa brillant
A night that will be many nights at once
The night promises to be unforgettable. Guillem’s boyfriend’s best friend has spent months creating a spectacular outfit, hoping to win the audience award at Futuroa’s Sarao Drag. What Guillem doesn’t expect is that the very same outfit will trigger a severe allergic reaction, plunging him into an initiatory journey marked by intense hallucinations.
As the celebration unfolds, the protagonist’s discomfort grows, and various figures —both real and imagined— appear, pushing him to reflect on his relationships with love, friendship, and sexual identity.
Too Bright follows Guillem during the night he becomes aware of the phobias and prejudices that have always accompanied him. An awakening in the form of an allergic reaction that takes him by the hand and guides him deep into the Sarao Drag — forcing him to become part of a collective to which he belongs, yet despises. Forcing him to be part of the celebration. A celebration that —as the title of the show suggests— is radically bright. Open, alive, and expansive.
Guillem will step into the Sala Petita of the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya accompanied by real and fictional characters —most of whom will be summoned each evening by the audience’s imagination— who will embrace him for a little over an hour of accelerated breathing. A suffocating descent that will be both tender and unpleasant.
A night that will be many nights at once.
