Mudanza
Direcció: Pere Portabella
Mudanza proposes an intervention in the museum-house of Federico García Lorca’s family in Granada, in the Huerta de San Vicente.
This short film by Pere Portabella is the result of moving furniture and objects so that the visitor can walk around unobstructed through the spaces full of meanings and echoes, among the emptiness and silence of the place, held by the memory of the experience and the level of demand of the visitor/viewer. The aim is to enhance the significant absence of the poet Federico García Lorca, making it clearer and closer, both from the emotional and historical point of view.
Portabella is one of the great masters of contemporary European cinema. He has directed titles such as Vampir-Cuadecuc, Umbracle and Die Stille vor Bach (El silenci abans de Bach), and his work has been shown in some of the main venues of contemporary art, such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris or MoMA in New York.
