Xavier Pla (Girona, 1966) is professor of Contemporary Catalan Literature and Theory of Literature at Girona University. He is the author of studies on the work of Josep Pla, notably including the essay Josep Pla, ficció autobiogràfica i veritat literària (1997) and the editions of Cartes a Pere (1996), Josep Pla, la diabòlica mania d’escriure (1997) and Josep Pla. Dietaris 1918-1919 (2004). He won the Joan Fuster Essay Prize for Simenon i la connexió catalana (2007). He contributes to the supplement Cultura/s of La Vanguardia and the magazine El Temps.
