A visit to the Fundació Vila Casas

NMD##lk_-1##

The Can Framis Museum of the Fundació Vila Casas, a not-for-profit organisation for the promotion of contemporary Catalan art, is a few minutes from the TNC, in the area of 22@. It has a permanent collection with around 300 pieces by diverse artists born or living in Catalonia created over the last five decades.

The guided tour of the permanent collection of Can Framis seeks to confront certain works in the museum with some questions posed by Josep Maria Miró’s Fum, establishing a dialogue between theatre and the visual arts.

I have written articles and more articles explaining that I like this place because the people are happy and know how to live with nothing, because you can still smoke a cigarette in the restaurants… But now that these people have a glimmer of hope of change, now we flee. It is also a problem for you. We have so often desired a revolt, but when we find ourselves in the midst of one, we wish it had not happened. We are enclosed here, in our rooms, waiting, observing and that’s all, while, in front of us, a man is bumping his head, to the point of crushing it against the glass.

(Josep Maria Miró, Fum)
