The act of desiring develops our soul

Ánima is a cry for the creative and individual freedom of women in the form of a musical.

The animation film industry of the big American studios in the late 1930s is the setting and starting point for telling a story about women's struggle to prove that they deserve to occupy a place that, until then, had been reserved exclusively for men.

An excellent score and libretto in the hands of a talented team for the creation of this new large-format musical, in Catalan, which will open the TNC season at the Sala Gran.

“Only desires and passions that are complete make us happy,” said Madame du Châtelet in her famous Discourse on Happiness. But I would dare to say that they are never fully fulfilled, because we spend so much time projecting and planning that, when they do come true, they are never exactly as we expected. This makes us reconfigure them, give them another shape and create new ones. We are condemned to not being completely happy, to always live in unfinished desire. But isn’t it thanks to this reconfiguration that we shape ourselves? Isn’t it our ambition that gives meaning to our life and prevents us from falling into extreme apathy?

It is the action of desiring that builds our soul.
