Vudú (3318) Blixen

This is the story of a pact with the devil.

Angélica Liddell steps onto the stage of the Sala Gran at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya for the first time to present one of her most acclaimed recent works.

Vudú (3318) Blixen is a dark, poetic journey of vengeance toward Angélica Liddell’s own funeral—invincible and inevitable—provoked by a fatal error against fate.

Asteroid 3318 Blixen belongs to the asteroid belt of the solar system, located between Mars (the god of war) and Jupiter (the god of gods). It was discovered on April 23, 1985, from the Brorfelde Observatory in Denmark.

Baroness Karen Blixen, better known as Isak Dinesen, promised her soul to the devil, and in return, the devil promised her that everything she experienced from then on would become a story. That is my relationship with writing and with vengeance.
This is the story of a pact with the devil. A story stolen from reality in order to lead it into myth and purify it.
Hatred helps us endure, says Marguerite Duras, but vengeance can only be allowed in “representation,” by abusing the power of poetry through the tragic form.

My acts of vengeance are rituals—aesthetic sacrifices on the altars of the incomprehensible.
What is written can be immortal because it carries the same power as dreams. Nothing I say will compensate me—except the ritual.

When Evil is translated into aesthetics, real evil disappears and, at the same time, it completes us.
